About the Role:
Join Bastrop Central Appraisal District as a Financial Officer, where you will play a pivotal role in managing our financial operations. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vital organization that supports our community through accurate property appraisal and financial stewardship.


Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Accounts Payable.
  • Prepare quarterly invoicing for local support payments and assess penalties as required by law.
  • Accounts Receivable.
  • Manage budgeting processes, including forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and present financial statements to the chief appraiser, board of directors and stakeholders.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors for financial assessments.
  • Develop financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage employee benefit packages.
  • Balancing payroll software application for accuracy in withholdings, required reporting and employee earnings.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to support organizational goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in government financial management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to ethical financial practices and transparency.

Compensation: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
